My first pregnancy, the morning sickness and how to deal with it..

Posted by Esh's Haven at 5:30 AM 0 comments
I honestly believe that most of the first time moms out there when they found out that they were pregnant, are of course very happy with what they have discovered and also very nervous if what exactly the feeling of being pregnant. Definitely, first time moms do have a lot of questions about pregnancy, its symptoms, what food to eat, can they still do the things that they usually do when they were still single, but of course the answer to this is that, not all those things that you used to do are can still be done when you are already pregnant since those can be dangerous to your baby or to your health as well. We have to be very careful about the things that we do when we are already pregnant. As a matter of fact, I even told my friend who was pregnant also at that time to refrain from watching horror movies since I have read a book that you even have to avoid watching movies that tackles about violence, horror movies and the like, since it can affect your baby or something. We both followed this since there’s nothing to lose and after all, all we want is to make our baby healthy.

When I found out that I was pregnant, my initial reaction of course was at last I am now a mother. I can now see a little girl or boy walking and running around our humble abode. The joy I felt at that very moment was indescribable and you just can’t wait to see your child.

However, I am also scared about it since it was really my first pregnancy and I must admit, I’m scared about the signs and symptoms of pregnancy. I’m scared about some of the complications like Gestational Diabetes, Eclampsia and pre-Eclampsia-the hypertension during pregnancy, Toxemia, and so on. But thank God everything went well; I have a very healthy pregnancy. During those times, I can’t really help my self not to worry since, everything was all new to me, and it was really my very first time to carry a child in my womb.

During my journey through motherhood, the first trimester or the first 3 months was really the hardest part of it, because of nausea and vomiting, which is one of the symptoms that occurs during this first 3 months of pregnancy. And I know most first time moms will also say the same thing. The reason why we experience morning sickness during the first trimester of pregnancy is because of an increased Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG). This is really hard since during the first three months, you felt nauseous all the time, that leads to vomiting, which is pretty normal when you are pregnant and not to mention, you have no appetite at all which wasn’t easy to deal with. And surely, first time moms out there are really looking for ways on how to manage it. The best thing to do when you are not really comfortable with the symptom or the morning sickness is to eat crackers 30 minutes before getting out of bed in the morning or your diet should be dry, high carbohydrates and as much as possible, eat a low fat and low spices food.

Advantages of breastfeeding...

I had only breastfed my daughter for a month only since I need to go back to work after a month of giving birth. And to tell you honestly, I did have regrets then, for the reason that breastfeeding has a lot of advantages for your child and for you as well. It is recommended to breast feed your child right after giving birth since the first few days, the breast milk has Colostrum that contains gamma globulin (antibodies) that can never be found in any artificial formula that is used by most mothers in feeding their child nowadays, especially those who are working moms. Breast milk has more vitamin A, C, D, E, than cow’s milk.

Breastfeeding is also one of the safest family planning methods which is also called Lactational Amenorrhea Method ( LAM ). The mother who is breast feeding her child is protected from pregnancy for the period of 6 months and until her menstruation has not yet return so, she will not yet get pregnant during this time. Since it is a natural planning method, there will be no hormonal side effects.

The feeling of being pregnant...

When I found out that I was pregnant, I already prepared myself with the things to expect in the coming days or months, its signs and symptoms, so that I will be aware if what are those signs for I will not wonder about the changes that I will go through, emotionally and physically. I read a lot of books and I did research on the internet about pregnancy.

As what I’ve mentioned, there is an emotional change. Yes, I am very emotional then, I cry easily even on those programs I’m watching on boob tube, even on those petty things in life, due to some hormonal changes, perhaps. In my first trimester, as what I have mentioned in my previous post, that was the hardest months for me. I am always sick, no appetite, that made me lose a lot of weight and there was one time that I thought that the morning sickness I’ve experienced wasn’t normal anymore and I felt that I’m suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a medical terminology for excessive nausea and vomiting during pregnancy. But thank God, it didn’t turn out the way I expected, it was all normal.

However, my second and third trimesters were a smooth sailing for me since I did have a very healthy pregnancy. I can even go to the mall all by myself, even I’m already on my 6-8 months of my pregnancy. Lol.

To top it all off, I really enjoyed every single day of my first pregnancy and the joy of becoming a mother is really indescribable, it’s beyond words.

My daughter..

When I see my daughter who is running and playing around our humble abode, all I can say to myself is that, time is just so fast that I don’t even realized that she is growing up now. She is turning 4 years old and I still felt that she was my baby that I used to cuddle, that I didn’t know how to make her stop crying once she started to cry, back then.

I’m just so happy that I was able to see her grow right before my eyes. I have heard her first cry until she learned to talk. I have seen her first steps until she learned to walk. And I remembered back then, when she learned to speak “mama”, that was one of my happiest moments of being a mother. Now that she is 4, every time that she tells me about her cute little stories, every time she sings the alphabet are just like music to my ears. It just feels so great, and it takes away the problems and all the stress I’m experiencing in an instant, every time she says “I love you” to me. She is undoubtedly the greatest gift that God has given me and I will do everything for her just to make her safe. I love her with all my heart and I’ll do the best that I can just to give all the wonderful things that this world has to offer.

Vaccines for your baby...

Before my child reached the age of 1 year old, I did make sure that she will be given all the vaccines she needed for her to be healthy and in order to prevent some diseases that children below 5 years old are really susceptible. Nowadays, there are a lot of health centers that offer free or affordable vaccinations all over the country which is very good news to all the mothers

Below are the vaccines that your baby needs before reaching the age of 1 year old:

BCG ( Bacille Calmette Guerin) vaccine-this helps in preventing Tuberculosis and given right after the baby’s born and repeated when your child reach 7 years old.

Oral Polio Vaccine- the first dose is given when you’re baby is 6 weeks old, this  is given at 4 weeks interval, so the second dose is when your baby is 10 weeks old and the last one is on the 14th week of your baby. So, that will be, 6-10-14 weeks.

Hepatitis Vaccine- this is given right after the baby is born, and the second dose is on the 6th week of your baby. And the last one is when your baby turns 14 weeks old. So, that is, 0-6-14weeks.

DPT vaccine- it stands for Diptheria, Pertussis, Tetanus. DPT is given when your baby is 6 weeks old; the second dose is on the 10th week of your baby and the last one, when your baby turns 14 weeks old.

Measles vaccine-given when your baby is 9 months old.

Working so hard...

I am really working so hard now here since I need a few bucks by March because it's my daughter's birthday. I want to prepare something for her and buy her a new toy, a barbie doll perhaps, and buy her new clothes as well. That's why I am really working so hard now and I'm working on my new blog which I'm planning to submit to one of my favorite paid to post sites, I just hope I will get an approval from them.

By the way, I just received now the second payment from Blogsvertise, to see the payment proof just check it out here and I just hope that I will receive another task from them this Feb. I didn't receive a task for my first blog that I've submitted to them and my last task I received from them using my first blog was on October.

Anyway, I already earned $11 from the site which I'm busy this past few days. And this was my earning for almost a month that I'm active on this site. I know it's still very far from Google Adsense minimum payout which is $100, I am very much hoping that by March, I'll reach that payout, lol, well, keep my fingers crossed.

Becoming a mother for the very first time...

Posted by Esh's Haven at 5:34 AM 0 comments
Becoming a mother is really one of the greatest things that ever happened to me. It is indeed very fulfilling on my part to get to experience the wonderful feeling of being a mother for the very first time.I truly believe that the first time moms out there also felt the same thing.I was 22 years old when I got pregnant, a bit young for some girls to get married, however for me, it was already the perfect time and I am proud of it.I am just so thankful that
during those times,my mother was very supportive and was always there to check on me 24/7 just to ensure that every thing was very much okay, since she knew what it feels like to be pregnant and the hardships that you have to go through. She taught me a lot of things like the things that I should do and what to avoid, food to eat, and so on,inorder for me to be healthy through-out my pregnancy. I really learned a lot from her and some of them are still very helpful, which up to now I can still apply when it comes to raising my daughter.

Becoming a mother for the very first time was basically very overwhelming. I was really excited then and at the same time, a little nervous since I have no idea at all on where to start. As what I have mentioned above, I didn't know what things to do first and most importantly, how to take care of my baby. I am also scared if what it feels like to finally give birth, and how painful the labor was, since it is not really the delivery of the baby or giving birth is the painful stage but the labor stage was really the painful one. I thought the pain was tolerable  but I was totally wrong. My mother was always telling me that it is indeed very painful, but I never imagined that it can be that painful.Yes, the pain was really unbearable and because of this, you can really tell to yourself that you don't want to get pregnant anymore.Lol.

However, when the moment came that I finally gave birth to a healthy baby girl, all the sacrifices I made paid off and all the pain I've experienced, vanished in an instant. All I wanted at that time was to cuddle her,  for her to feel my warmth and my love for her.And all I could utter during those moments was, "it's all worth it".

Yes, the exact feeling when you get to see your baby for the very first was truly amazing. The joy and the excitement you felt at that very moment was really indescribable. All you want is to protect her from anything that can cause her harm.

As of this writing, my daughter will be turning 4 years old.I cherish every moment with her and I really spend more quality time with my daughter since time is just so fast and before you knew it, she is all grown-up.

So, for all the first time mothers out there, just enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. And once you get to see your baby, I'm very ascertained that all you can utter at that very moment, as what I've mentioned earlier in this post, "it's all worth it".
